Our Story

Thanda has almost finished building a library in a rural community in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.  We have started to move in, but there's still work to be done! Our goal is to give the children of this community an equal opportunity to succeed in the future.

The Impact

Thanda's Library will be the first such resource for a rural community on the South Coast. With access to books, orphans and other vulnerable children gain the power to help themselves out of poverty. Education gives children a way to develop their confidence and have hope for the future.

What We Need & What You Get

We have the walls, bookshelves, and we're getting donations for books, but we need your help to fund a librarian for a year ($3500) as well as a security guard ($1800) to ensure the new Thanda Library and Community Center remains a safe place for children.
