Teary Sockets tells the story of Bobby Tear, the leader of the Los Angeles based Emo band The Teary Sockets, through the lens of a beleaguered documentary filmmaker, Jackson. Jackson is attempting to piece together a documentary of the bands rise to stardom and their dedication to an animal rights charity that Bobby Tear founded to stamp out bovine abuse. Low on money and in debt to Jackson, Bobby is forced to travel to Mississippi to seek funding from his estranged father. While the clash of cultures is inevitable, his brief return to his hometown culminates in an event of national significance.
