Raised in the urban culture of Caracas, Venezuela, Tao Garcia has been cultivating himself into a premier multidisciplinary filmmaker over the past decade.
After a successful run as an award-winning art director in the advertising industry, Tao decided to pursue more challenging goals and relocated to New York to attack the film industry head on.
For the last six years, he has served as a Producer and Designer on numerous Film projects, with a special emphasis on Thrillers, Horror, Fantasy and Period pieces.
His most recent credits include: J.T. Petty’s “Blood Red Earth” (Costume Designer) released by Lionsgate Entertainment & Glass Eye Pix , international festival hit “The River of Copsa Mica”(Art Director) as well as the recently completed Short Thriller “Against the Wall” (Producer) and the soon to be released features “Subhysteria”(Production Designer)& “BloodBath Test”(Producer)
His work has been praised by Troy Adlers ( Art Director at “Lucas Films”), “Fangoria Magazine”, “FEARnet.com”, “Indigo TV”, “RAI TV” (Italy) and “El Universal” newspaper (Venezuela).
He currently resides in Crown Heights Brooklyn with his Life Partner, Sci-Fi Poet and Screenwriter Vanessa L. Watters.
