Our Story
This Just In...From Gen Con! is a special podcast produced live at Gen Con Indy. Hosted in 2011 by Daniel M. Perez and Rich Rogers,
they work hard to capture the excitement and mania that is Gen Con --
both for listeners who can't make it and for those who sync their MP3
players at the show!
If you'd like to come to the show live,
you can find the TJI crew at the Caucus room in the Westin hotel,
broadcasting 11 AM & 5 PM Thursday through Saturday, and 11 AM Sunday.
The Impact
While there are many other media sources pumping out content related to Gen Con, This Just In... From Gen Con is the only show recording and releasing episodes right at the show. TJI gathers industry insiders and prominent fans as guests to bring a bit of the excitement and madness that are the best four days in gaming, packages it into 15-minute chunks of audio awesomeness of interest to both those who couldn't make it as well as to those attending the show.
This year we are trying a couple new ways to bring the moment-to-moment excitement of Gen Con to the fans, including a 5-minute 6 AM "Today At The Show" segment and aTumblr feed documenting the convention as we experience it ourselves.
What We Need & What You Get
Your contributions will go towards funding the show hosts' travel and stay at Gen Con Indy while they work on TJI. Planning, soliciting, booking, producing, recording, editing and uploading the show are all very time-consuming tasks for any podcast, but especially for one that is meant to record and release twice a day over a 4-day period. By becoming a contributor, you help us get to Gen Con and spend our time bringing you the best show we can, especially this year when we will be doing a Tumblr feed which will be updated maniacally during the show with
pics, out-of-context quotes, video snippets, etc., allowing fans to
see/hear/experience Gen Con through our eyes as it happens.
In return you get our eternal gratitude posted for all the world to see on our website under TJI 2011 Season Credits. We also have a TJI sticker, a T-shirt for dedicated supporters, as well as the opportunity to sponsor one day of episodes, or even the entire 2011 Season, and join us as special co-hosts.
