Plot Outline
This is a story inspired by true events. The lead character, Jackie Brooks is an emotionally, physically and psychologically abused mother of 4 children. Whe she became aware that one of her children was being sexually abused by her husband, who was the child's stepfather at the time, she remained in denial and silent for years and did nothing to stop the abuse.
The feature script to this film is now completed and written as a drama/horror/thriller
For the past 3 years, I set out on a seemingly impossible journey, and honestly, I wasn't afraid. I just went out there full force and did it. Without absolutely no filmmaking experience, I goal, and was able to produce my first project, The Silent Cries (Trailer for Funding attached to this fundraiser. This passion for filmmaking has been placed in stone in my heart and I am even more confident that I will be able to accomplish my dreams of being a successful filmmaker.
I began this project on March 21, 2009. I wrote, produced and directed it. With limited or next to nothing funding, I made a way out of now way and shot the trailer you see on this profile for the sole purpose of funding to produce the feature story.
To know that there are actually people around you who not only believes in your vision, but believe in you enough to support financially in your endeavors, speaks volumes. Fundraising for Independent film can be a very painful task. Especially, if you are a new filmmaker. Giving up should never be an option if you believe in yourself.

The Impact
Since producing this trailer, I have received hundreds of emails from survivors of abuse. Victims of abuse who've lived in silence for so many years that are now no longer afraid to speak on their life long secret. This is why this story is so profound and must be told. The story surrounding this film is not exempt from any other story. The faces may be different, but the stories are all the same when it involves the circle of abuse. No person whether it is woman, child or man should have to succumb to mental and physical abuse. Everyone has a life purpose and abuse should never be an option.
What We Need & What You Get
We are currently in negotiations to achieve major funding to shoot the feature to this project. We have already been approved for the 30% Georgia funding and have investors currently looking at our proposal since the tax credit funding is in place. We are seed money which is why this fundraiser is being set up to assist us preproduction and production costs associated with shooting the feature to this film.
It will take four weeks to shoot the feature film. Therefore, casting is currently underway. We are shooting on the RED package and have a film crew already in place. The script is currently being broken down for scheduling as we continue to move forward.
