Sweet By Design - A Dream Coming to Fruition!

As you all know, my dream of having a storefront has come to fruition! God is ordering my steps and I am walking in them boldly. He has allowed me to experience total reliance on him and is showing me that HE will give me what my desires should be and HE will allow the things HE has deposited in me to make room for me.  

As most of you know, I was laid off on May 24, 2010. I was inspired actually by a FB friend one night to start baking or learning the tricks of the trade. And so I did, and out of my kitchen I began baking, and word got around. Long story short, here I am today. I was blessed to be interviewed for our local newspaper, the Jackson Sun and it was like God literally told me "It's time Marla". I had already been laying the ground work but it seems like I was waiting, on what I don't know. But I am out here now, and I've signed my first lease! God is GREAT! It is walking in unknown territory, but I know my steps have been ordered.  Being out of work for the first time in my life has  been challenging, but God has been with me and my family every single step of the way, even during the MANY nights where all I could do was cry. But joy certainly comes in the morning, only if we endure. 

Sweet By Design is now leaving my kitchen and coming to you, through the internet and our first storefront - and yes I did say FIRST! :-)   This is all for the glory of the Father and I pray my testimony will only show others his faithfulness to those who are HIS.

In response to all of your love and support and requests to help, I have created this page as a campaign of sorts.  I have been blessed to start this business with what God has blessed me with, but I would love to give you the opportunity to have a part in the success of Sweet By Design.  Many of you have requested how you can help me with this new endeavor and despite my pride and feelings, I am coming to you now with an opportunity for you to contribute. If you are led to invest in the success of Sweet By Design, please know that I am eternally grateful and words will not be able to express the amount of gratitude I have.

The Impact

The impact of your gift will only help SBD come to fruition DEBT FREE. We are the Body of Christ and we are here to help one another. Your gift will produce a great harvest, and in turn I pray to be in a position to return the blessing to others in the Body. My goal is to solicit 30 people to contribute $100, or whatever you are able to give.

What We Need & What You Get

Support has been OVERWHELMING and God is showing himself so very faithful. From favor with the landlord, a brand new refrigerator, a PRO BONO website, and just people asking how they can help. It's literally amazing how the body comes together for one of its own.

Everyone who contributes to the success of Sweet By Design will not only have a hand in its success, but they will also be able to be the first ones to receive a shipment of sweet treats! No questions, no strings, no requirements, - simply make your request known!
