Our Story
Thank you for your interest in our first-ever fundraiser for ZomBcon International on Indie Go-Go. The world's first-ever Zombie culture convention brings you a 360 degree movie fan experience through the arts and sciences celebrating the ever-popular horror icon, the Zombie.
After two amazing years, ZomBcon International team has played host to horror icons like Bruce Campbell, George A. Romero, Max Brooks, Tom Savini, Malcolm McDowell with the cast members of the Evil Dead, The Walking Dead, and HBO's True Blood.
We have played host to some of the most unique fan events ever conceived like the EVIL DEAD Wedding that brought a newly ordained Bruce Campbell with the entire cast of the original Evil Dead film and a very playful Altar boy, the one and only Ted Raimi. If you would like to see the wedding, click the link here
This independent fan convention has had an impressive two year run and battled the odds that can steer any company down the wrong path. Thanks to all of the fans who have continued to support and buy tickets, this is why we do it day after day....to bring you the best damn show in the world.
ZomBcon has received less than 10% of it's funding from corporate sponsorships and partners, in an effort to keep this convention dedicated to the fans that live and breathe horror 365 days a year. It's mission has and continues to be built by the fans for fans an experience to interact and engage with the culture's top guests for a amazing program of panels by today's top authorities from Fangoria, Dread Central, Twitch and many others.
We know this convention can succeed and survive the Zombie apocalypse of 2011, but we can't do it alone and you can help us keep the doors open for business and bring this wonderful event back year after year.
This is our last effort, as we don't have big corporations to save the day and invest thousands of dollars to keep this great event alive, we have our fans and that is all we have. Stand up, skip your daily latte for a week, quite smoking, or stay home instead of going to happy hour this week. Your small donation can help us keep this con alive and donate today!
The Impact
Your donation goes directly to investing in the future of ZomBcon to keep this great culture institution here in the PNW. As you know these large scale events take a great deal of time, research, and money to bring you the best damn show possible. By the fans, for the fans
Our staff is 100% volunteer and internship based in an effort to keep this great event alive our costs low in it's first three years of operation.
Our goal and hope is to move this convention into a certified 501 (3) c non-profit by 2013 with the proper fundraising support by the fans. Let's keep Seattle undead and show the world why we are and continue to be the "Zombie Capital of the World"
What We Need & What You Get
Every dollar counts and every pledge helps us get one step closer. This is your chance to keep this great convention alive (or undead).
How can you help? It's easy and AFFORDABLE! Here's how easy it is to contribute and keep this convention alive and how you can help.
How It Breaks Down to Reach Our Fundraising Goals
2,500 people contribute at the $50 level, we keep Seattle the host city for ZomBcon 2012 and quite possibly ensuring the future of this great convention in the northwest.
5,000 people donate at the $25 level, we can green light ZomBcon 2012.
Fundraising Goals To Accomplish
$75,000 - Keep ZomBcon Alive and green lights ZomBcon International 2012. Host City TBD.
$125,000 - Keeps ZomBcon in Seattle for 2012
$250,000 - Keeps ZomBcon in Seattle for 2012 and 2013
$500,000 - Keeps ZomBcon in Seattle permanently
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DON'T REACH OUR GOAL?
When it comes to the Zombie apocalypse, we never think of the worst situation, but we are prepared and this threat is very real. If we do not hit our fundraising goal, then we will not continue ZomBcon in its current form as of January 5th, 2012. Your money will then be used to produce smaller ZomBcon branded events in the Seattle area.
We greatly appreciate the continued support and thousands of people that have already bought tickets over the past two years. This has been an amazing opportunity.
Other Ways You Can Help
Please help spread the word and share this among anyone and everyone! Share this fundraiser on Facebook, Twitter and your blogs around the world!
