The Story
Last year, on a trip to Japan, I found a shoe in a corner store. I brought back a few pairs as a gift for my girlfriend and everyone that saw them wanted a pair. I started to get serious about the idea of making my own pairs in march of 2011 and I've been able to boot strap the project until now (shoe pun). Sumisu Shoes are heavily inspired by those pairs I brought back, but there have been some significant changes. The kind of changes that people that read "Born to Run" will like plus some serious comfort innovation.

The Mission
100% of the profits from Sumisu Shoe Co. will be donated to the East Japan Earthquake relief fund. Your money will mean that these shoes will be produced without a high interest loan from the bank, so more money will be in the hands of the people that need it most.
Where's all that cash going?
The $15,000 goal is half the story, and truthfully half the goal. If we can double that then we won't have to talk to a bank all all to make the first limited edition run happen. If we can't, this money will show the bank that we have serious interest and then we can raise more funds by traditional means.
Contributing will buy us the plane tickets we need to visit the factory and finalize the sample and will produce a 3,000 pair limited edition run of the shoes.
These limited edition shoes will, in part, be going to the amazing people that chose to contribute on IndieGoGo. I will also send a pair to Gwen Stefani and a pair to the president.
I'm broke, but I want to make your dreams happen.
If you can't spare a dollar, I understand. I was a college student once too. I've maxed out my credit cards making this happen so everything you do helps. Tell your friends about this project. Use the share tools on the page to get the word out. Print out this page and tack it up at your local coffee shop, tell your mom all you want for your birthday is a pair of Sumisu Shoes.
