A new short film from the makers of H.P. Lovecrafts The Book and The Uneventful Life of Gerrard Giles.

Theres something strange in the neighbourhood, and average schmo Walter Johnson hasnt got anyone to call. Plagued by the presence of a pesky poltergeist, Walter tries to deal with the situation the best he can, until his best friend Bryan makes matters worse

Inspired by the Ghostbusters films, Stupernatural combines the laughs and the scares of the ever popular franchise with its combination of special effects and character-based comedy (and a side order of splatstick). It will also employ the FX techniques used on those films by using prosthetic/puppet spirit characters composited into live action footage, giving these ghosts their own personality that is sorely lacking with the overuse of digital effects. (In the gallery, youll see an FX test from last year in which the ghost was portrayed by a rubber glove with a face on it. We intend to raise the production value somewhat for the final film.)

Were looking for funds to build these effects, hire a 5D to shoot on and acquire locations, along with any other production expenses.

And possibly hiring Ecto-1.

It should also be noted that the $1000 target was coined before all the estimates were in, so were actually looking for around $1500.
