Our Story
Hello! My name is Sarah Chellis, and I am about to enter my last semester as a film student at the Santa Fe University of Art and design. This project, Somnambulist, will be my final work produced at this school. I'm very excited because I'm in love with horror films, and this is my chance to make my own spooky tale featuring slimy ghosts, meat tenderizer violence, and plenty of blood.
So what's it about?
Somnambulist is a story about a girl who's life seems perfect. Eden has a great life, her boyfriend is the perfect romantic prince any girl would want, and she's about to have a book published. However, when her boyfriend proposes to her, she becomes uneasy about her decision to marry him, and her dreams are haunted by ghastly ghost creatures which she must overcome. In reality though, Eden is a sleepwalker, and it is her wonderful fiance, and his secret lover who experience the true horror of Eden's morbid hallucinations.

The Impact
This project is going to be a ton of fun and also a chance for many of my fellow students to stretch their film-making skills. I'm really looking forward to having a very positive set with everyone doing something that they want to do. Now, this project is for a class, so whether or not I make my goal, I will still be finishing it, it just will be a lot more difficult to get the look and feel I want for this film. Basically, the more money I make, the more blood we can make!
I will be submitting this project to festivals, so it's an exciting chance for me and my crew to get our names out there a bit, as well as getting up some IMDB pages.
What We Need & What You Get
So here's the breakdown:ART DEPARTMENT: $1000
(Lot's of special effects makeup, fabric for the ghost costumes, props and set decorations)
KRAFT SERVICES/CATERING:$500
(A happy crew is a well fed crew)
EQUIPMENT:$1000
(Since my school supplies most of the equipment we need for free, this would really just go towards renting a generator, and buying things like batteries, gaffe tape, gas, and other miscellaneous items we will need)
Be sure to check out the perks I've listed as well. Your money doesn't just fund our project, but you get something out of it too.
