Hallo everyone,
My Project: I am creating a comprehensive self-help website to support anyone struggling with bulimia nervosa who wants to escape this vicious circle. I live in Germany and I found no online support in my native language. Since I am sure there are many people in Germany who have Bulimia Nervosa, I wanted to help them by creating the first German-language Bulimia Nervosa Support website. This can be a devastating disorder in which sufferers lose not only their health, but their dignity and relationships as well. Having Bulimia can be very "lonely". Please help me make a difference for the thousands of "lonely" Bulimia sufferers in Germany. Thank you!
My name is Elisabeth, I'm 17 and from Germany! In my early teens, I was a competitive figure skater. Being very ambitious, I also always had an eye on my weight and figure yet after going to the USA for an school exchange at the age of 15, in order to spend more time practicing on the ice, it became more than just watching my weight, I developed anorexia nervosa but wasn't severely underweight yet. After one year, I came back home, I had a summer job as a waitress at a local restaurant and after leaving the restaurant very late at night, I was raped on my way home. I didn't know the man and -thanks God- I never saw him again. He was drunk and I couldn't defend myself. Luckily, I didn't get seriously hurt, physically. Yet my mental state is a total different subject... My not so severe anorexia fully got out of hand and finally, I couldn't control anything. I became bulimic and developed self-injurious behaviors. As you can imagine, I totally hit rock bottom, especially when the stress at school became more and more just before graduation.
But I am getting out of this! I think everything happens for a reason and maybe the reason, why this happened to me is so that I would at some day be able to help other people struggling with bulimia nervosa! Please help me help others! If I can beat bulimia, everybody can do so but it's almost impossible to do it on your own. That's why I want to build this website where everyone who needs help, can have a profile, special tools like "binge busting tips" that you can use when you feel the urge to binge on food etc. Bulimia nervosa is a disorder that mostly happens secretive so it's often very difficult for other persons, even very close ones, to tell whether somebody is suffering from it. Therefore, it would be tremendously helpful for the help-seeking ones to have a "safe space" where they can share their experiences and help each other. I will always make sure that this does not become a pro-bulimia site or a place where they will share tips that encourage the bulimia or trigger any negative actions! in that case, the user will be admonished and if that happens again, will be deleted and banned from the forum.
I will use the money for:
Please let me know, what you think about my concept! I would be happy, if you support me to help others with this website! I have professional help from different therapists who will give me advice on how to construct the tools and create a motivating atmosphere but I am open for any tip and advice, so please let me know, if you have something to contribute!
If you think this website is a good idea and you believe, others will like that idea, too, be free to share my idea on Facebook, twitter etc.
Thank you very much,
Elisabeth

I will use the money for:
- buying topic-referred books that I will use for the different contents of the website which will be health, psychology, nutrition, (possibly: spirituality, integrative medicine), just everything that could help the users and bring them closer to their goal of living a healthier life. I just need a lot information to evaluate and then suggest and recommend the helpful parts of it to the people!
- inviting professional therapists, doctors and other people who know a lot about this disorder and interview them, to build a column so that the user will have new information regularly
- getting professional help for the creation of the website so that there are no irritating server breakdowns etc.
