This short is a glimpse of what Any Hood, USA looks and feels like. Either the youth will become nurtured by the safety of their parents or molded by the disastrous streets. In the middle there’s always one who evaluates and escapes the falling pitfalls by seeing both sides; the endangered and those cause the danger. Scarred Pavement briefly examines how 3 different hustlers can be friends or foes to 3 neighborhood kids. A relate-able and unique story. A clash in direction of the realities of the streets. A reluctant hustler wants to step out that mold and try to break the recycling chain that’s been plaguing the streets. The other wants to prevent that and in the midst of this, a sick kid gets taken in and becomes the center of attention.
This short will be entered in the BET’s Lens on Talent Filmmaker competition after completion. We are seeking funds to finish the score.
This and other shorts have been self-funded. We are now in need of you, our community. Help us complete this project and support local talent. Thank you all.
