Salon is a temporary exhibit of art jewelry, taking place in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for one week in October.
This exhibit was an answer to a personal quest to find the perfect space to showcase my own jewelry. After 9 years in the fashion industry, and last 3 and a half running my own business I decided to take it upon myself to create that perfect space to showcase art jewelry. While this will be my dream come true, I have also extended this exhibit to include 6 of my amazing jewelry colleagues.
In addition to showcasing a select grouping of art-jewelry, I have commissioned each of the participating artists to create a finished segment that will be combined with the others into one collective necklace. This Exquisite Corpse Necklace takes its cues from the surrealist drawing exercise in which many artists contribute individual parts to create an exciting, unpredictable artwork. In this format each artist will contribute a segment into a necklace thus symbolically connecting all of the artists
My efforts at this stage have been purely grass roots. I am funding the Salon personally and successfully gathering collaborators in the Brooklyn community.
My final 30 day stretch before the exhibit opens leaves me with about $1000 worth of items to take care of. This includes balance of the rental space amount and money towards the display cases.
I am asking you for a bit of help to make this easier on me.
My goal is to make Metropolitan Green for one week a prestigious gallery worthy of the amazing art that I will be presenting.

And many many thanks,

Mia
