It is a dark time for the evil Galactic Empire. The death of the Emperor has left many star systems in disarray, and many have fallen victim to vile gangsters and rogues.

The smuggler Jek Whister recruits bounty hunter Tianta Fel and freighter pilot Kerran Teague to help him find a relic that reportedly enhances anyone’s sensitivity to the Force, allowing even the most normal of beings to experience the powers of a Jedi. Whister wants to recover the artifact and turn it over to the New Republic, mainly to gain immunity for past (and perhaps future) rule-breaking.

But others in the Outer Rim have also heard of this relic, and want to obtain it for themselves and their own nefarious purposes. The gangster Nekko Foon and his minions, in an attempt to dominate their dark corner of the Outer Rim Territories, wants to recover the Jedi relic and use its powers to give him a connection with the Force.

In the wrong hands, this ancient Jedi relic could spell certain doom for innocents across the galaxy…

STAR WARS: RENEGADES AND RELICS is a fan film planned for early 2010 as an entry in the next competition at Atom.com. The money raised will cover the costs of production (i.e. sets, costumes, visual effects, music, and food, among other things, including pay for our people – which would be nice to be able to do).

This will be a calling card, a production to showcase filmmaking talent in Kansas City, and to show that top-shelf productions can happen on a shoestring budget. (It helps that we’re all fans, too…) Our goal is to create a film that could stand with the original Classic Trilogy in its story-telling and production value. Not only can we showcase our talent to STAR WARS fans, but also to the good folks at Lucasfilm and Atom.com.

Your contribution is greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact us with any questions you have, and check back frequently for updates.
