A spiritually uplifting love story about a relationship so intense it transcends contrasts in color and culture; a relationship that goes beyond death, journeys across continents and culminates in eternal hope.

The film is about a beautiful relationship between AARON, a Jewish anthropologist and HUMZA, a Muslim singer who comes from India to US to study. What do they have in common to love each other so much? But love has no reasons, no logic. It simply is!

Fate, of course has its own logic and reason; intervening in peoples lives. Humza dies in an accident that the local police suspect is a terrorist attack. Before dying, Humza makes AARON promise him that he will fulfill his one last wish a ritual to be performed by his mother.

Aaron comes to India in search of Humzas parents but finds that they have moved out of Bombay. Aaron seeks Humzas friends help to trace his parents: Roma a Bollywood dancer in Bombay and Priyesh, a closeted gay man married to a woman, in Goa. Finally Aaron finds Humza’s family in a small village in the backwaters of Kerala. They mistake him for a tourist who has come to stay in their guesthouse and Aaron is unable to break the news, smothered by the familys hospitality. But when Humzas father comes to know about their son’s death, he is more shamed by the ‘perverse’ relationship his son had with Aaron, then his unexpected death.

The communal bigots have a misplaced hatred for Americans (post Iraq war) and a warped notion that all gays are pedophiles who corrupt children. They cry for Aarons blood. Events spiral towards a communal riot forcing Aaron to seek shelter in a 500-year-old synagogue there. Memories of happier times with his lover are the only thin line of reason that keeps Aaron afloat.

Will Aaron be able to build an emotional bridge with Humza’s mother and convince her to fulfill her son’s last wish? Can love and passion endure beyond death? Where does reality end and spirituality take over?

‘Songs of Eternal Love’ is a sweeping tale of love, death and spiritual awakening.
