Clarion New Media is sponsoring the SIFC Chicago Media Match Drive, where they will match any amount of donations to SIFC for an amount up to $1,500--meaning if we make our goal of $1,500, they will give us $1,500, giving us a total of $3,000 to update our team's media equipment and help us file for non-profit status!

What is SIFC anyway? Sixty Inches From Center: Chicago Arts Archive and Collective Project (SIFC) is an organization that documents and displays online the art that exists outside the center. We at Sixty Inches From Center are not trying to reinvent the wheel. We are looking for ways to strengthen the arts programs, artist collaboratives and creative practices or spaces that already exist and bring together the many different underground organizations, artists and collectives that are doing amazing things. Our goal is to create new bridges and act as facilitators of collaboration in Chicagos art scene.

This is a Media Match Drive. What's that?  Now that Chicago Artist Month, one of the busiest art months of the year, has come to a close and we have officially launched the website, it is on with the next line of projects for us at SIFC. It came to our knowledge about a week ago that our media and marketing advisors company Clarion New Media wants to sponsor us for a short campaign. Our last campaign was set out to raise funds that will help supplement our media needs concerning new equipment and we only got a small fraction of our goal. Clarion New Media fully recognizes how important our project is to the Chicago arts community after working with us since we first approached them last spring with our idea.  Clarion New Media believes in our mission and to encourage others to participate that they will match every dollar amount donated up to $1,500 dollars for our next campaign.  The funds raised will be used to purchase the equipment that we so desperately need so we can function in a more efficient, visually appealing and professional manor.  Clarion New Media has already donated their time in developing our new website, producing videos and training our staff to produce and publish engaging content.

What will these funds be used for? We need things such as Sanyo VPC-CG20 Dual HD 10MP Camcorders, DSLR NEX-5 cameras and Olympus WS 400S 1 GB Digital voice recorders for our team. In order for these items to function correctly, we need other things such as memory cards, external hard drives, memory card readers, hardware updates, and software updates.  We are also filing for our non-profit status, so some of the funds will contribute to making that happen.

Together we can make this happen!  We are very appreciative for this opportunity to raise double our goal of  $1,500. And all we need to reach this number is a minimum of 150 donations at $10 dollars or 75 donations at $20. If you feel exceptionally generous all donations over $100 will receive special recognition on our website with donor status along with an associated website link.  For those who are willing to donate amounts under $100, please keep in mind what your contribution is allowing us at SIFC to accomplish. Our efforts bring under publicized art of Chicago to the world. Make the match and help Sixty Inches From Center reach our goal!
