Our Story
My name is Keisha Douglas and I'm a film and television student at the Savannah College of Art and Design. It is my senior year and I want to make it worth my time by doing something I love to do: make a music video. One of the best ways a band can gain exposure and share their music is with a music video. I am so passionate about working with people and creating such an epic, amazing, beautiful, creative, Supercalafragalisticexpialidocious music video. There is yet to be a video about why you should fund our project, but until then, here's why. I have always been passionate about what I do. Whenever I got a chance to make a film for class, I thought about doing a music video. But when they never worked out as well as I hoped, I knew I would someday have a chance.
The music video I am now directing is for a new band called SHADOWRAPTR. I have now found a band that radiates passion with their music and have are so enthusiastic about making this music video. They hail from Cincinnati, OH and the song I'd like to use is called "Simple and Pretty". We will be in late February 2011, so we need as much funding as we can possibly get to begin our adventure of making this music video.
Celebrating their first release entitled; EP 1, Cincinnati Ohios SHADOWRAPTR uses everything from multiple part vocal harmonies to explosive experimental rock freak outs to generate a sonic landscape that is part beautiful and yet part terrifying. Influences include everything from Sigur Ros to Batman or Fela Kuti to Radiohead.

The Impact
Through this project, SHADOWRAPTR's music will be able to reach new audiences and introduce them to the world. While the music video is obviously great for spreading the word about the band, it also directly benefits the entire student cast and crew. Our project fulfills graduation requirements, gives first hand experience, and will help jumpstart careers for these budding film makers. SHADOWRAPTR's music has inspired me to create a visual representation of their amazing sound. Think lucid dreaming on a roller coaster. Think mom's fresh baked apple pie...on mars.
What We Need & What You Get
We want to raise as close to $5,000 as possible. This money would be used for location rental, equipment rental, travel expenses, actors, scenery, props and everything else we need to make our dreams come true. Ideally, the band will come to Savannah, and the crew may even go to Cincinnati to film at some of the band's favorite spots. If you can help in anyway, please do. We're building sets, renting and creating costumes, as well as recreating the dreams that we have all come up with to shoot and explore in this music video. Come on. Carnival. Outer space. Robots. Amazing right?! Help us create these fantastical scenes and be thrilled to see how it turns out.
Other Ways You Can Help
Listen to their music. Tell a friend, tell your minister, tell a stranger! Go see the band perform the next time you're in Cincinnati or if you're in Savannah when they're here to film their music video.
