Welcome to SATISFACTION, a feature film being made by Dylan Pasture (director/co-writer/co-producer) and Katey Parker (actor/co-writer/co-producer) in the Spring of 2012. We need a little help getting this thing filmed, so we are coming to you, dear friends and strangers, to help us lift it off the ground.

Appropriate to a small-scale story of a handful of people making sense of their lives in a strange place, the production of Satisfaction is going to be humble in size: a crew of about four people, a total cast of ten, filming in borrowed houses, theaters, and restaurants. This was conceived of as a project that could be made in close-quarters, personally, with an almost nonexistent overhead and a maximum amount of space for the actual film making to happen.
Satisfaction follows Gus King (Jesse Rudoy), a man in his late 20s flush with a large family inheritance, who sets up life on a small island in the Atlantic ocean. Armed with the deed to an ancient, one-screen movie theater, and grand ambitions to bring "classic" films to the small population of strangers around him, he hires an assistant - Karen (played by Lindsay Burdge) - and sets about trying to bring his dream to life. However, as opening day approaches, and less and less work gets accomplished, Gus's paralyzing ambivalence threatens to upend his plans.
Surrounding the theater, Gus falls in with a small group of islanders: Bonnie, a waitress; Ruby, his savant teenage neighbor; and Karen, whose practical ambitions and business sense come at odds with Gus's "laid-back" business methods. Augmenting this are the Greek chorus of Gus's older sister, Sam - his business manager, working back in New York City - and his childhood friend, Andy, a traveling circus performer who lands on the island and stirs things up. Personal dramas, though small, begin to eclipse the mission of opening a theater, and before long Gus is left alone on the island to piece together his haphazard plan.

We don't need much money to get this film made, but we do need a little help beyond our current means. That's where you come in!

All of the money we're seeking is needed for three basic things: 1. Transportation, 2. Food, and 3. Equipment.
While our cast and crew is based almost entirely around New York City, we will be shooting the whole film on Block Island, RI and in Cape Cod, MA. That's a long distance to move approximately 14 people safely. And, once on set, a lot of cooking is going to have to happen to feed people and keep them running. Much of our budget is going toward these requirements - the basic necessities for allowing the film to happen.
Additionally, we have some camera and lighting equipment to buy and rent. We will be filming Satisfaction on a combination of different Canon DSLR cameras (primarily the 5D and the t2i), and while we have the cameras themselves, we need specific lenses and filters to get the look we're going for.
If you'd like to watch some previous work by the filmmakers, you can watch these two films via Kentucker Audley's great blog, NO BUDGE:
On Vacation - http://nobudgefilms.com/post/5483529375/on-vaca...
Palace Hotel - http://nobudgefilms.com/post/4318214925/palace-...

As we step forward with pre-production, still tightening up the cast and finalizing locations and schedules, we can use all the help we can get. Much more information will be appearing here in the following weeks (final cast information, videos with the filmmakers, check-ins, et al), but we figured getting a slight head start on our work would not be so bad. We have a lot of work to get done in the next month and a half to ensure we can stick our schedule, which means shooting in April and May and editing through to August. But with a little help, we can do it.
We welcome any support you can give, small or large, and are glad to have you aboard Team Satisfaction. Thanks!
