A buddy movie between a father and a son who barely know each other

SYNOPSIS
ALBERTO (32) is an albino and a solitude seeker. He constantly battles against his uniqueness. Bowling is his only source of escape. In the midst of his secluded existence, he receives a call that forces him to travel from his home in Panama City (Panama) to San Jos (Costa Rica): CSAR (70), his father, suffered from a cardiac illness.

Alberto and Csar have not seen each other in years; in fact, when the albino notices that his fathers health is under control, he decides to go back home to Panama with the excuse of playing at a bowling tournament.

Csar is a Panamanian senior boxing coach and has been a physical educator at a Costa Rican elementary school for the past decade. After losing his job due to his health, he decides to join Albertos trek home and prove that he is still capable of conducting an active live. A twist of fate obliges Yadia, a Santeria-practicer, to travel with them. She is everything Alberto cant handle: an explosion of energy, esotericism, and rebellion.

The improbable connection between these characters trigger father and son to reawake their family ghosts and explore their own personal limitations in the road.

TRIVIA
According to Dr. Lluis Montoliu, albinism expert: albino characters have not been fortunatevery apart from their reality. In the past three decades, cinema registered more than 60 albino characters portrayed as assassins and psychopaths.

Our film aspires to present this condition as no prior film, with veracity and objectivity: focusing on character development, not the condition itself. RUTA DE LA LUNA is the first feature film to have an albino protagonist played by an actor with albinism.
