Alen, an abusive eighteen year old, has spent his life growing up in the suburbs with his mother and her inheritance. Until now, Alen has led an easy and unproductive life, constantly getting high and playing video games. Christine on the other hand, grew up moving from place to place with her drug addled father, having one dream: to escape and give meaning to her life.
The film Roommates is about those two individuals: Christine and Alen, who find themselves sharing an apartment after the inebriated slumlord, Sam, mistakenly rents the small one bedroom apartment out to both of them. Being bind by the one year lease, Sam explains, is not a mistake he is legally obligated to correct.
The verbally abusive Alen and the logical and compulsive Christine must find a way to live with each other or find a way out of the lease. If they want out, they will have to learn what it truly means to be an adult and take charge of their own lives.
