r e v e r s a l

Hi All! Even though we have reached our goal, every single dollar above the goal still goes to making Reversal the Film a success, and supporting our fantastic cast and crew. Movies have a tendency to run over budget and this fantastic short is no exception. Every dollar helps and we appreciate you checking us out!

Rule number one in filmmaking- start with a great script. For us that meant telling a dynamic story with characters that draw you in and leave you guessing.  We got just that and more from Seattle talent, Jen Page.

But great writing is only one of the things we love about filmmaking. At Coffee N Donutz, we are passionate about the arts through and through. Filmmaking is the pinnacle - great writing with the script; original artwork with the storyboards; heart-swelling music in the score; creativity and technical expertise through innovative directing, cinematography and production design. And most importantly, filmmaking is FUN! And we want to share the joy.

Once we had the script in place, it was time to start sourcing some incredible local talent for our cast and crew. Actors Trin Miller and Ben Andrews have refined their thespian skills on the stage and silver screen alike; Director, Dave Preston, has over 10 years experience in the television and video production field; our Director of Photography, Chris Taylor hails from Adventus Films; and our brilliant composer, Catherine Grealish, understands that the music itself can become a character in the film adding beautiful depth and dimension.

Crunching the Numbers

We have our script locked and loaded; our talented actors and crew signed; and our location scouted. Pre-production is well underway. To finalize the details, we need to finance the remaining $7,000 needed to make this film a reality! Heres a breakdown-

Equipment- Renting state-of-the art equipment is key to giving a Hollywood feel to films on an indie budget.

Craft Services- Full bellies = a happy cast and crew!

Production Design- Costumes, make-up and props, oh my!

Insurance & Permitting- Safety first.

Post-Production- Mixing, cutting and composing.

Promotion- Film festivals, marketing, distribution.

It Takes a Village

to raise a child, and well, this is our baby! Every cent counts. Please check out the pledge levels to the right. Theres something for everyone. And some pretty groovy perks to boot! We accept both credit card and PayPal pledges, but the latter is preferred.

Nuts and Bolts

To make your pledge to Reversal, just click the green Contribute Now button on the right hand side of the page. You will be asked to input your contribution amount and select a perk.

We are filming the weekend of August 19-21 and need to make a minimum of $5,000 via PayPal pledges by that time to shoot. The balance is for post-production and promoting the film. If we dont reach 5k, the shoot will be delayed, potentially until the summer of 2012 since 95% of the film takes place outside. With our fickle Seattle weather, a summer shoot is a must!

If we make more than our goal, booyah! We have a prequel and sequel for Reversal in the works and any additional funds will go directly to making those films a reality as well.

And Thats a Wrap!

When its finished, well have an excellent and entertaining short film ready for the 2012 festival circuit! Well be submitting Reversal to the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), Seattles True Independent Film Festival (STIFF), Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), Holly Shorts Film Festival (HSFF) & Palm Beach Womens International Film Festival (PBWIFF) to name a few. Well also be submitting the film to websites that feature indie films such as Coffee Shorts, IndieFilmz and Viddler.
