Our Story
Requited is about brothers and their relationships. The film opens with a gang of outlaws robbing a bank in an old western town. The Sheriff and his fellow law men stop them in their tracks and a violent shootout erupts. Our main character John loses his brother Peter to a gun wound after desperately trying to save his life. John follows the old western ways and seeks revenge to kill whoever is responsible for his brother's death. The story takes twists and turns as John unfolds the truth. Throughout the film, we see significant moments of John and Peter's childhood that are helpful to John's search for revenge.
The story is about brotherhood, trust, and most importantly karma. The title means paid in full, and as the story progresses, you realize that by the end, everyone has paid in full.
The Team
Director:
Madeline Puzzo has made several period pieces and has mastered the art of costuming and production design. She has the rare ability to connect with actors and create authentic performances through a collaborative process. She works well with everyone and has the leadership skills it takes to make a great film. To read more about Madeline click here.
Director of Photography/ Writer:
Mark Christian will be working on his 9th film with Madeline Puzzo. They have sealed an incredible working relationship where they always share the same vision. Mark has been working on this story since December 2010 and looks forward to telling this powerful tale through expressive visuals using color, movement, and composition. Read more about Mark here. Producer:
Lauren Funk has a great passion for producing. She has worked on numerous films with Madeline Puzzo and Mark Christian and is looking forward to working with them again on Requited. She is working hard to make sure that everything is ready to go, so that when shooting starts, there are no issues.
Assistant Director:
Emily Westfield has a natural talent for keeping people on track and managing the schedule of the day while the rest of the crew is too busy setting up shots or while the director is working with the actors. She is working very hard and closely with Madeline, Mark, and Lauren to create a efficient and thorough shooting schedule.
Talent:
Buck Smodic will be joining the team again reprising the same role as John. This will be Buck's third project with Madeline Puzzo and fourth with Mark Christian. During the production of The Kid Buck showed an incredible amount of enthusiasm and dedication in becoming the character. The team is excited to have Buck return to continue the story. Sergi Robles is returning as Peter, the younger brother. Sergi was recently nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role of Peter in The Kid by the Maverick Movie Awards. While shootingThe Kid, Sergi shocked the crew and the rest of the cast as he delivered an authentic and powerful performance. You believe every dying breath he takes and hope for his character's well being. Peter serves a much larger role in Requited and we are excited to see Sergi work his magic again.
Assistant Camera
Brian Fuller will be joining the team as Mark's assistant camera. Brian shares the same passion for visual storytelling as Mark, making him a great addition to the team. He is already working closely with Mark and Madeline preparing for principle photography. Read more about Brian here.
Editor
Nathan Inglesby has joined the team as our editor. Nathan has a great feel for pacing, purpose, and creativity when it comes to editing. This will be his second time working with Mark and Madeline. To see Nathan's latest work, click here.
The Kid
The Kid is a short concept film that the cast and crew made in order to raise funding forRequited. You can watch The Kid above or by clicking here. The film has received much praise due to its genuine performances, its striking visuals, and accurate depiction of the time period. Most recently The Kid was nominated for 5 awards by the Maverick Movie Awards: Best Student Film, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actor, Best Production Design, and Best SFX Makeup.It was recently selected as an Official Selection at the 7th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival in LA August 11-18 2011, as a FlickFire Fest Finalist, and was selected into the Point Park University Cinema Showcase 2011 where it was screened at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. We are currently awaiting notifications from other festivals.
The Goal
What comes after the film is completed?
We feel that this film has a very positive message told through a very entertaining story line with relatable characters. We are very proud of The Kid and we think that Requited can take the story to the next level. You may be asking what we are going to do with this film. Requited will be submitted into festivals worldwide, ultimately to raise money so that we can fund a feature film based on this incredible story.
What We Need & What You Get
Over the past months, our production has managed to get many sponsors that have donated food and other products, and have received many donations thanks to our generous friends and family. What we need now, is just $1000 more in order to make sure that we can perform all stunts and action scenes correctly to pay for our stunt coordinator and to continue paying for location rental costs. Without the proper safety measures taken, our project will not happen, which is why this last $1000 is so crucial. None of this money goes to the filmmakers themselves. Every penny donated will go into the production in order to make the best possible product. Check out the perks on the right side of your screen. We would love for you to join this great team of people so that we can make a film that we can all be proud of.
