My Story
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJaS6VuMCjE
I've spent a lot of time researching and perfecting this unique feature length script. This project is just in its beginning stages, and I'm ready to move to the next step....that's where you come in!!!
A little about me: I'm an actress, singer, songwriter, dancer, and screenwriter with 10 years of experience in front of the camera. After years of observing how films and TV shows are made, I've decided that I'm ready to show the world that something other than the typical, formulaic film can come out of Hollywood!
This film will be made independently because it's very important to me that the script maintains its integrity. Not to mention, I want to bring some fresh faces to Hollywood. Additionally, a club full of strippers (where I did my research) is counting on me to tell it like it is, because as far as they're concerned, no one has gotten it right yet.
I intend on entering the completed project into any and every film festival out there. From there, I will work night and day to get theatrical release and distribution.
The Impact
At its core, this story is about an underdog and the obstacles she must overcome to better her life. This is the kind of story everyone can relate to in the sense that at some point in our lives, we have all felt rejected. In this story, our protagonist, Kate, struggles with being frowned upon by society because she's a stripper. Yet, people want to be inspired by the underdog, and that's exactly what Kate does. This story shows that no matter what kind of situation you are in, there is light at the end of the tunnel.More importantly, this film is also about domestic violence. I'd like to bring more awareness to the topic by obtaining sponsorship from a domestic violence awareness group.
What We Need & What You Get
How much money do I need? Anything I can get!Unfortunately, making a decent film with decent equipment costs a lot of money on its own. Decent camera equipment costs up to $700 a day to rent, which includes lenses, batteries, steadicam, zoom, etc. Lighting can cost anywhere between $500 and $1000 a day.
Additionally, I need funding to pay the actors and crew.
Plus, I want to make this film the right way because I don't want to get fined. I'd need to obtain permits here in Los Angeles. Also, I have to rent out special locations such as: strip club, yacht/boat, and restaurant.
If I don't reach my funding goal, I will still make this movie!!!!!
I will provide receipts and documentation for the money spent on the film!! Think of your contribution as an investment...check out the perks section!!!
