The Story

Recent Life is an ultra-low-budget geology themed hitchhiking epic filmed across eleven U.S. states.

Kona Morris stars as Katie, an emotionally detached young woman who abandons her quotidian life and hitchhikes across the United States to reconnect with her past. The farther she travels, the more she comprehends her insignificance in comparison to the geologic forces that have shaped the landscapes she journeys through.

Also appearing in the film: Nathan Pierce, Joshua Kelly, Amanda Mullins, Oliver Brink, Angelique Hennessy, Kenneth Thomas, Anthony Mankins, Carrie Smith, Victoria Smith, legendary underground filmmaker Damon Packard, and the brilliant Portland-based artist Chris Henry.

The director is Jon Olsen, whose past work includes Zombies of Eureka and Ape Canyon.

What We Need

This is a fundraiser to complete a DV feature which has been shot and is now in post-production. Money raised will pay for the cost of new computer equipment (the computer I was originally editing on just died) and the shooting of additional scenes. Any leftover money will go toward festival and distribution costs.
