Many of you know me and the LipBone Orchestra, because over the past 5 years, you have come to our weekly shows in NYC or you've caught one of our shows when we've visited your town. You've bought our CD's and you've helped get the word out about Lipbone Redding. You have been in the audience when there were just a few of you and you've seen our audiences grow. Thanks for helping us spread the word. Maybe you were even one of the many people who first heard my song, "Dogs Of Santiago" being played on your local radio station.
Summer 2011 marks the release of our 4th CD, UNBROKEN. The LBO and Team Lipbone has put in more money and studio hours than ever before to make the best album for our fans that we have ever recorded. Jeff from the LBO produced it and it was recorded at our favorite 'hole-in-the-wall' studio, Axis Sound in NYC. If you've ever contemplated supporting the arts, supporting an honest, hard-working artist, you are in the right place. We work damned hard and every cent we make goes to staying alive and playing shows to spread the word about our music. We have a great new record. We want to bring it to the widest possible audience but that all starts with local, community radio. Many of you have often told me, "There are so many LIPBONE fans out there who don't even know it yet, if they could only hear you guys once..." Admittedly, our strength has always been to be heard. Its better than describing the band, or reading about us. That's for sure. The nightmare scenario is that all of our hard work goes unheard.
What We Need & What You Get
As we all know, nothing is for free and you get what you pay for. So here it is. The only way a new record like UNBROKEN can make it to a wider audience is to hire additional TEAM LIPBONE members in the field of Radio Promotion, Marketing and Public Relations, people that will get UNBROKEN on radio, TV, into Movies, Magazines, Newspapers, etc. We already have a good idea of who we would like to hire, it's just that we don't have the money to pay them...yet. We're tapped. To make the PR machine work, to access the media, you need experts and you have to grease them with a few dollars.
So we are asking for donations from our fans - money that will help us get the word out, get the music out there, and get us out on tour this summer. Over the last 4-5 years we've done a lot of travelin', certainly playing for way more than 5000 people. Now if everybody we've touched could see fit to donate $1 - we've reached our goal. If everybody might think about donating $2, or $5, $10, or more, we'd be able to actualize our entire promotional plan. Radio and Media are the building blocks...the necessities for a small band like us. We know things are tough out there, that's one thing we all share, but we are determined to make this work. We believe in what we do because we know you believe in us and that inspires us. Please help us if you can.
