Our Story

Human Health Project (HHP), released in Spring 2011, is a unique social network whereby medical professionals of all types, conventional and alternative; including nurses, doctors and practitioners from anywhere in the world can help each other with difficult cases. The service is free of charge, non-profit and non-commercial and is run by a team of dedicated volunteers in conjuntion with members of the medical community. Our website may be found at www.humanhealthproject.org and will serve as the main "link" that enables members of the community from around the globe to connect, discuss, and seek answers. The idea for HHP stemmed from the personal experience of Phil Harrington MD, who for three years went from doctor to doctor struggling to find a diagnosis for his own illness. Even with access to modern healthcare and a background in medicine, the answers were still elusive. When he eventually recovered, he started to work on a solution for people across the globe who found themselves in similar situations.

All medical data collected will also be saved and used to build a Knowledge Database which will be in turn be searchable by medical professionals, researchers and members of the general public. (For more information on this program, please view our recent press release at http://www2.marketwire.com/mw/release_html_b1?release_id=725253.)

Currently, we are in the process of designing a module that will give members of the public who do not yet have a medical professional with whom to work the opportunity to find a Volunteer Patient Advocate to submit a case on their behalf.

The Impact

Imagine you (or a loved one) are ill and in serious need of help. Your medical providers are trying but they cannot find the answers specific to your case, or you simply do not have access to a specialized doctor/health professional at all. Information on different medical options potentially available and/or prior "hands-on" knowledge of your particular ailment may be waiting from points all across the globe, yet until now it's been just out of reach.  Having a Volunteer Patient Advocate, or your own medical provider, submit your case on HHP may be the link that you need to get that invaluable knowledge into your hands - and onto your chart - where it will do the most good.

What We Need

We need $5,000 to build this module. The money will pay for software development, including a business analyst to work up the detailed requirements, an interface designer to work on the user experience and software developers to do the coding.  HHP's volunteers will also be working hard on this program, thereby saving as much money on manpower as we possibly can.
