An Epic Opportunity:

My name is Chuck Marshall, I am an aspiring Director soon to graduate from De Anza's film and television department with an AA in both film production and television emphasis. What started out as a 2 month preproduction for my last film class for the degree, became a weekend trip complete with an amazing production team of friends and professionals.

The production team of 15 will be staying on location for Oct 21st, 22nd, and 23rd dedicated to a weekend of filmmaking. When we wake up, we go to work and when we run out of daylight, we'll still be shooting. We will have a shooting window of approximately 36 hours on location.

What we are filming is the pilot to a 10 episode fantasy genre webseries (7min each) with a 2nd season under discussion.

Episode 1: "The Road to Magehaven"
Traveling along a forest road after nightfall, Lumin and his apprentice, Arrin, must defend themselves when they are attacked by a small group of malevolent Elves seeking Lumin's spell book, a manuscript containing the secrets to control nature.

The Countdown to Oct. 21st

The campaign goal of $3ooo will completely cover all expenses of the pilot including: wardrobe, food, gas and production costs of necessary equipment and rentals. If we don't reach our goal, we're still going to shoot. This is an epic opportunity, and we won't be missing it.  

When this venture began, we decided to get together for a weekend and shoot a short film. It soon transformed into a RED camera production and ultimately a series was proposed around the characters and their world. Professionals have volunteered their time and energy into this project without any expectations other than to do what we enjoy most: making movies.

"Project: Magehaven" is looking for 150 people to pledge $20 to this epic opportunity so we can create a pilot for a fantasy web series that will be available to watch for free online. Our goal of $3ooo will pay for all of our initial production needs and should we surpass that goal, the funds will go towards future episode production costs.

If you are in the California area or travel to Casa De Fruta for the Northern California Renaissance Faire, members of the Magehaven Team will be there opening weekend (in appropriate attire) to enjoy the faire, spread the word of Magehaven, and collect emails from faire goers interested in the project! Once the pilot is completed and polished, links to the film will be sent to those we met at the faire (as well as contributors from Indiegogo) for an exclusive first look. We hope to see you there!
