PRODIGAL DAUGHTER is a one hour long personal documentary that chronicles my return to Peru and quest to reconcile with my family and heal the emotional wounds and cultural rift caused by 16 years of separation.

Economic desperation and political turmoil drove me to leave Peru and never look back. Going home is an inner journey as well as a geographic one, forcing me to come to terms with the family I left behind, take on family responsibilities and embrace my role as prodigal daughter.

Can I overcome the barriers that now separate us? Can we close the gap caused by the global immigrant diaspora?

PRODIGAL DAUGHTER reveals the hidden injuries of the globalized undocumented immigrant experience, the high cost for families forcibly separated, emotionally split and financially destroyed because of their determination to immigrate to pursue their dreams of a better life.
