I trained in all aspects of film and video production as part of my BAHons degree and haven’t stopped making them since. I am currently a Founding Partner/director at Distant Object Productions Ltd.
Documentaries have taken me across the world including a two year stint in China for Bafta award winning CH4 series ‘Beyond the Clouds’.
Born in Uganda I am drawn back there often and one of my last films with Distant Object Productions ‘Rock Music Rock’ art drew attention to an island in lake Victoria where huge granite tors are home to incredible prehistoric rock gongs never filmed before. Contemporary classical musicians fused styles with traditional Ugandan folk musicians as they played these incredible rocks. It won a ‘Best Documentary UK’ award at one of the numerous festivals it was screened at.
Whether 5 minutes or feature length, its the story and cause that moves me. Another recent production was a four part patient education dvd ‘Understanding High Blood pressure’. The documentary included patient stories alongside a stage designed presentation in which we projected our stunning medical slides and animations on a 20ft screen. Feedback audits showed 85% of patients changed their lives as a direct result of the video.
I have extensive training experience including mentoring at BBC Training and Development. I edit with Avid or FCP.
