Current Fundraising Total: $730
Our goal is to raise $5,000 through Indiegogo and other means by February 7th. With this amount of money we'll be in a good position to approach several key individuals in our community about the project who are involved with film financing. Why so much just to talk to someone? Well with that kind of support behind us they'll know we are serious about this film, and also that we already have the support of a large amount of people. Having this money will also put us in a much better position when it comes time to apply for several film production grants in the summer of 2011. The total amount we are working to raise is $22,467. A lot of money for sure, but after developing the script for four years, I'm willing to keep fighting for this project as long as it takes us to get there. Won't you join us?Our Story
Prescription Happiness is a short film about a young pregnant woman struggling to hold onto free emotions while living in a society controlled through prescription drugs.
This fantasy/sci-fi film will be presented with a near absence of dialog in order to place the greatest emphasis on the actions and emotional states of the characters inhabiting our world. Its also a move to create a film with a universal audience so that anyone around the world can experience the film more fully.
The Impact
Imagine a world where everyone takes prescription drugs. At nearly any given moment their voice and actions can be recorded by an omnipresent system of surveillance cameras. Each person has only a few subdued emotions, and spend they their days in a monotonous routine that only serves to further dull their senses. Sounds crazy, right?
What We Need & What You Get
To pay the cast and crew to provide their professional services. Rent gear and equipment for production of the film. Pay for permits, insurance, craft services, and the off duty police officers we will need to close down city streets. A slick website to gather more interest in the film and more donations. Props, costumes, fake pills, festivl entry fees, posters, dvd duplication and everything else we'll need to see this project become a reality. A top sheet of the budget can be made available by request.
Other Ways You Can Help
