Pole Tricks is a comedy film that will have film festivals across the country laughing at the outrageous characters and ridiculous situations, as well as thrilled by a sexy look and pulsing club vibe.
The movie is a irreverent, not-exactly-insightful look into the life of Hollywood stripper-slash-actress Honey Lane and her club, the Spunky Monkey. We meet her wannabe suitors, her loser clientele, her catty coworkers, and the horny bouncers, all of whom fill her day with that much more drama. She harbors a desire to be big-time actress, but like many talentless out-of-work actors, she finds little of her time filled less with being on sets and more with a dead-end job. At least for her the dead end job makes her a ton of cash.
The movie pushes us from set piece to set piece, like the club nestled under the Hollywood sign, the main dance floor where the action happens, and the backstage locker room where the girls swap stories and bicker. We get to know all the kooky regulars like Tiger, the Filipina lifer, and Glasses, the regular known for selling his world-class beanie baby collection one piece at a time to finance his dances with his favorite girl.
