Out Of Time: short film

Our Story

We are a team of young indie professionals who fell in love with a story and want to tell it the way it deserves to be told.

We had a high-production short film with no funding, but we were determined to bring it to life nevertheless. So we pulled up our sleeves and started doing whatever we could, and little by little more and more people came to share our vision and joined the project. From the make-up artist to our director of photography, everyone worked countless hours for free. After months of pre-production and several setbacks we were able to set shooting dates and get the shots we need.

In order to finish the short film, all that's left to do is post-production. However, we now find ourselves with no more resources to continue. What little money we had (which came from our own pockets) was spent on camera and equipment rentals and transportation, meals for the crew, etc.

You can see our love and dedication in this trailer. You can help us turn the project into a reality.

What is Out Of Time about?

Dante is an ordinary man who at some point in his life decides no longer needs clocks to tell the time. Instead, he depends on events around him that he knows take place everyday at the same time. Particularly, a woman who walks by right in front of his house at 8:40am. She's become the only thing with meaning in his life. Dante follows her everyday and admires her from afar, unable to tell her how he really feels. This cycle repeats itself over and over until one fateful day, in which she no longer shows up. This event will drastically change Dante's perception of reality and affect him in ways he couldn't imagine, this will lead to an unexptected ending.

Out Of Time is an unusual love story that raises questions about how we percieve time and reality, as well as diving into Dante's inner world, dream-like, oppressive and distorted.

Who we are

My name is Zeke Brizuela. I studied filmmaking, but working independently, on my own projects, has been impossible due to financial reasons. I came up with this particular script a few years ago, and since then I've been working on polishing every detail so as to deliver an interesting story and a professional-looking short film. Meanwhile, I worked at a few post-production companies, which resulted in a blessing since I finally got the connections that allowed me to finish putting together a great team of young professionals who share my vision and want to make my script a reality. Thanks to them, we are down to the very last stage of the project.

Let me introduce the great team I've been talking about:

The Impact

The story of Out Of Time is an exageration of something that happens to all of us in different degrees and the ways in which routine disconnects us from reality. This short film is our way of reflecting on this and giving more people the chance to do so too.

The final goal is to enter film festivals and show the world our way of telling compelling stories. We  intend to showcase the talents and passion of all the dedicated, young professionals involved in the project.

What We Need

We need funding for the post-production stage:

- color correction

- digital visual effects

- titles design

Even though these items sound like few, it's actually a lot of work, and post-production is really expensive!

What You Get

We've thought of some cool perks to show our contributors how deeply we thank you... every donation, no matter how small, brings us a step closer to completing this project, in which we have invested so many hours of hard work.

Of course, donating is not the only way to support us... SPREAD THE WORD! Share this page... you can help us make it happen!
