After Syn and Lightning discovered by chance the creations of visionary artist Gregg Fleishman by visiting his studio, they only had one dream: to bring his work to the world's largest display of visionary art, Burning Man.

There is one constant at Burning Man and that is the loud sound of electronic music coming from the art vehicles and the many sound systems spread throughout the city.

It has been virtually impossible to find a quiet space to escape.

For the first time in the history of Burning Man, a special oasis was created in a zone free of motorized vehicles and amplified music: a large scale wooden structure erected in the walk-in camping area of Black Rock City.

People came to contemplate, meditate, rest, meet, view the city from a distance...

Otic Oasis - the movie is the story of how the piece was created, through the difficult process of conceiving the design, producing the piece, and finally bringing the materials and building the Otic Oasis in Black Rock City.

It's the story of a group of artists that were brought together by the love of art and Burning Man.

It's the story of a friendship.

It's the story of how 15,000 pounds of wood were carried in the walk in area by hand, and how a 35 ft structure was built without the use of any nails or glue.

If embraced by the community, the Otic Oasis is intended to be a perennial structure: to return each year, as the Center Camp Cafe does, to continue to provide shade and shelter to weary travelers who need some tranquility  in order to recharge.

What We Need

The video above is a 4 minute version of the full length documentary that we are working on.
The money raised through this campaign serves for all stages of post-production:
editing, sound mixing and scoring, color correction, mastering of the DVD, etc.

Daniela Ardizzone, the director and main videographer of this project, will be coordinating the post production and the editing of this documentary.
The whole process should take about a month and a half.
The music in the promo is only a placeholder. It will be replaced with an original soundtrack by an established music composer.
The remaining funds will be used to produce and mail all the rewards that are part of this campaign.

Even if the goal is not reached, part of the editing will start anyway while other campaigns will be attempted.
