Our Story

Hello.  My name is Sebastian J. Howley and I am a writer and director from Chicago, Illinois.  My company, Any Moment Productions,llc, is in production on a short film entitled ORPHANS.  The script was written several years ago but other projects took priority because the necessary pieces of the puzzle eluded me.  Last August though, everything fell into place and the we were off and running. 

We have worked for over nine months on pre-production for this ambitious short film.  Filming finally began on Saturday June 4th and we need immediate help completing our film.  I used Indiegogo.com for my last feature film ONE NIGHT and was happy with the results.  

The feedback so far for this project has been overwhelmingly good and I am proud of the work we have done up to this point.  I believe in this film and I firmly believe it needs the extra financial help in order to create the production it deserves.

ORPHANS is an alternative history story that follows a young boy as he fends for himself in the days before a large scale bombing on the city he lives in.  He befriends a (steampunk inspired) robot at the factory where they both work.  As the bombing approaches they must save themselves as no one is going to help either of them.

I want to tell a story that is emotional, visual and imaginative.  I chose a challenging project in order to push myself and my abilities.  Adding elements of sci-fi with the character steampunk robot allows viewers to come to terms with the effects of war without the historical context.  This boy represents any child, man or woman that has had their life altered by the violence of war.

The Impact

This campaign will directly allow us to complete the film with the highest quality we can, help with production company costs and then allow us to get the word out once it is edited through advertising, marketing and DVD creation. We also need to purchase some critical stock footage, sound effects and music.  We also have a solid day of filming and reshoots to do.  Basically, we can not successfully finish the film without this campaign.

We are already in production but need immediate help with funds to finish the film.  We have a solid day of re-shoots and some critical shots to still film.  Without these reshoots there is no finished film.  We also need financial help in getting the word out after we are finished editing.
