Synopsis: This is the first of three feature-length films told in serial format, in the style of the 1930s. John Murphy finds himself caught up in a web of intrigue and danger when he arrives at Outpost 51 to find an old flame trying to help a scientist who has developed an energy generator that could mean ultimate power.
This story came from a discussion with James G. Hunt, the 5-year-old co-creator who wanted to make a new "Star Trek". Inspired by "Star Wars" and its ilk, "Comet Tales" is an anthology of feature films, short films, novels, comic books, and other stories for all to enjoy.
Initially, this will be presented by chapters on-line, followed by DVD release and additional market distribution.

How will these funds be used?
Money will be used to produce the film projects, promote the web serial and the DVD, and develop further projects in the "Comet Tales" anthology.
Phase I money will be used for pre-production and development of marketing material.

What makes Comet Tales - John Murphy and the Orb of Doom different?
This project is the brainchild of a 5-year-old boy who loves "Star Trek".
Having had a short film air on the SciFi Channel, and with several awards for my commercial productions, I have the chops to make this happen. I have the skills to make it happen. There are plenty of talented people here in the Kansas City area to produce a high-quality product that all can enjoy.
But no matter what else, I made a promise that my son could watch this movie. I'm going to make it, no matter how long it takes.
