Opshiy Yizik (Common Tongue) is a film that examines the relationship between my father and me as we attempt to overcome our traumatic past. By filming a journey we will make through important familial sites, I will explore the extent to which long established patterns of silence and forgetting can be reversed and new connections between father and son can emerge.
