About Occupy Tulsa

Occupy Tulsa is a grassroots movement formed in support of the Occupy Wall Street protests. We come from all walks of life and from all parts of the political spectrum. We all have come together to fight the corporate takeover of America. Our shared goal is to get the corporate money out of politics, fight for the rights of 99% of Americans who are being tyrannized by the top 1%, to bring about Social and Economic Justice and Equality, and bring about true democracy where every person has a voice and has a say in the process of governance. We are a non-violent movement, accomplishing our objectives through peaceful exercise of our First Amendment rights. We will take to the streets, we will spread our message far and wide. We will not be divided or bought out, and we will not rest until the Corporatocracy lays toppled at our feet. If you doubt this is possible, look to Egypt, Tunisia, and Iceland as examples. Peaceful revolution is possible in our time. All that is required is for everyone to lay aside the petty differences that divide us, standing should-to-shoulder in solidarity on what unites us. We are Occupy Tulsa. We are the 99%. We are the Revolution.

The Impact

In order to reach the largest number of people in the Tulsa Metro area possible, Occupy Tulsa wants to turn local billboards into protest signs. The signs will be simple, but powerful, and put our message out for commuters to see throughout the city day in, day out.

What We Need & What You Get

Lamar Advertising owns the billboards in the area. A 4-week ad campaign for 7 "Poster" size (10'5" X 22'8") billboards costs about $4,725. The Billboards would be located throughout the city: http://maps.lamar.com/GRPMapPrint.aspx?GRPMapID...

The average DEC (Daily Effective Circulation - ie people looking at the sign) is 14,546 for each panel! Multiply that by 7, and that is 101,822 people seeing the message every day!
This would provide maximum coverage for our message to reach the 99%!
