The film focuses on Adam, a film student at the local college, and Lowe, a singer who organizes the Open Mic Nights at a local coffee shop that Adam works at. Adam has been in love with Lowe ever since the first Open Mic Night three years ago, but has never had the courage to tell her.

Supporting characters Field and Stacey have just broken up after being together since freshman year of high school. Field is an English major at the local college and Adam’s best friend. Stacey is a senior in high school and is very involved in theater there.

On the closing night of the coffee shop, Adam finds the courage to confess his love to Lowe, while Field and Stacey learn what it means to move on.
