A group of suburban friends learn some harsh lessons over a twenty-four hour period when they leave to find adventure on the gritty, materialistic summer streets early new millennium in the city of wanna-be Angels where they find themselves lost in the trials and tribulations of trying to escape.
My Way is a theme the idea that a person wants to live life his way, not subject to someone elses rules.
My Way attempts to examine both the pros and cons of this particular philosophy.
When Nick, a recent high school graduate, and his childhood friend RK decide to leave the suburbs and head
into the city for some excitement, they find that urban life is far more complicated and dramatic than the place they call home.
With their friend Adidas Mike, they head to the home of a materialistic drug-dealer named Bucky and his NFL-sized bodyguard.
After a few unusual encounters, they are robbed right outside Buckys building. In the process, RK is shot. RK lives, but his
car is stolen along with their drugs. This catalyst sends our protagonists through a maze of city streets, unique characters
and situations, only to find out that Bucky was behind the car jacking. With the help of Kalvin, an inner city kid, our protagonists
invent an ingenious plan to rip off Bucky and set things right. Of course, complications ensue.
My Way is an honest portrayal of contemporary innercity and suburaban culture, with emphasis on dialogue and character development.
My Way has a little of everything drama, comedy, romance, coming of age, adventure, thrills and action.
More than anything, My Way is about the realism of life in Los Angeles in the summer of a new millennium.
