My Father, the Old Horse is a small town drama following three generations of men on a hunting trip.  When disaster threatens their small town, they must confront their tense and estranged relationships before it’s too late.

Dear Visitor,

We want to give you this film.

Why?

Because we're proud to stand behind the product even before it's finished.

Since we need funds to make it:

Everyone that contributes to the film will receive a DVD or DIGITAL VERSION.

$10 GETS YOU THE MOVIE

... and the more you give, the more you receive!

What we have here are familial themes and values in a delayed “coming of age” tale.

Mack, a physically grown but emotionally immature man, clashes with his domineering father, Donald, over his accountability as a father. Mack’s son, Young Don, is experiencing his first hunting trip and his future is jeopardized by his father’s actions.

Only by trial and error, encountering man’s emotional fears, and exhibiting the courage to face the consequences of one’s actions can Mack emerge an emotionally developed man. In 'My Father, the Old Horse,' the men of the Esbenshade family, young and old, face conflict with each other and their environment as they come of age.

The people behind MFTOH are a collection of very skilled individuals from Temple University, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and everywhere in between.  The Writer/Director, Max Einhorn, is a senior in Temple University’s film school and has large aspirations for MFTOH, originally planned to be his thesis project… but is now so much more.

Dan Santelli, a close friend of Einhorn, is a Producer and is renowned by those around him as an encyclopedia of film knowledge, theory, and practice. Cara Trabucco co-wrote the script and was handpicked by Einhorn for her abilities in being an objective viewer and thinking outside the box. A more recent addition is Kirk Ledger, was welcomed onto the team as a veteran, known for his producing and co-directing work on the high school wrestling documentary, Takedowns and Falls.

You should contribute to MFTOH because the small town drama is being re-invented by using western mythology and we're using some of the conventions of the old Wild West. Something you’ve never seen before. You’re also helping to support a short film aimed to help advance the careers of graduating college students and others hoping to improve their resume with something very special. Finally, we have a handful of really cool incentives to offer you, including various ways to have your name featured in the film.

The funds will help us pay for the remainder of principal photography-  which includes special effects makeup, production insurance, and reimbursement for crew and their food while on set. You are also helping us prepare for our car crash in which we will be enlisting the assistance of local emergency officials and the consultation of stunt specialists.

You can help us by contributing to our cause. If you’d like to help, but can’t afford to offer financial assistance, you can help us spread the word on Facebook by sharing our page or our website.  You can also email Cara Trabucco if you’re interested in sending non-perishable food to the production or if you’re local enough to Philadelphia or Harrisburg PA, to cook a meal for set.

Thank you so much for your time and effort!

PS: If you've contributed before and/or are contributing now- all perks will be disbursed and/or granted upon the completion of the film!
