ABOUT MUTE

Monette, a middle-aged salesman, picks up a deaf/mute hitchhiker on the road. The hitchhiker falls asleep and Monette vents his problems, knowing they fall on deaf ears. He rants angrily about his wifes infidelity and her embezzlement from her employer. When Monette returns from a public toilet, the hitchhiker has disappeared. Monette thinks nothing of it until two days later his wife and her lover are found murdered.

ABOUT ME

I am screenwriter and recently acquired the rights to adapt this excellent short thriller. This is the first time that Stephen King has given permission for one of his stories to be filmed and set entirely in the UK. My previous short films include THE CONSTANT FATHER, which was screened in over 30 international film festivals, including Edinburgh and was nominated 'best screenplay'. I have been a recipient of the UK Film Council's Borough Award for the short film ATTACHED, currently in pre-production.

FUNDRAISING

Previously we raised almost $3000 on Indiegogo which has made MUTE possible. We are currently in pre-production and are set to shoot on 3rd, 4th and 7th March 2011.

We are looking to raise a further $500 to help with our marketing and distribution costs. We aim to get MUTE into the top international film festivals including CANNES, EDINBURGH, BERLIN, LONDON, VENICE and SUNDANCE. All these festivals have entry fees ranging from $30-$100 each. You donation will also be used for printing stills, literature and for burning DVDs.
