Our Story
We are Haberdasher Films a small group of media production undergraduates based in Lincolnshire. We have been making films for the past 5 years and have now got to the stage where we want to make a film that everyone involved will be really proud of and showcases the abilities we have and what we can do when we work together. The film will be around twenty minutes long and will examine the world of Morty a mortician and his apprentice Viva. The film revolves around their relationship and the revelation of a dark secret that emerges as they become close. We have really great ambitions for this project but unfortunately we only have that, the idea and the talent we have a severe lack of funds and so we need you to get behind us and make this a realitiy. If it really takes off we could get to the film festivals, who knows!
The Impact
We are all about supporting local film makers and we ourselves know how hard it is to get your work made and made well. We want to show everyone that the idea you've always had in mind for something great can be achieved with the support of the general public. Whether your a media professional or film making is simply your hobby then we all need that boost to make our ideas great. We are really excited about this idea and don't want to make any comprimises when it comes to production. We really want to showcase ourselves and what these crowd funding websites can do.
What We Need & What You Get
The majority of the funding will be consumed by the mogue location (which we have been to visit and it is perfect, photos can be seen on the Haberdasher Films facebook page). We have not arranged a specific price for the location yet but we are offsetting some of the costs by providing media work for the company resonsible. Although we may not be paying the actors to save costs and showcase the rising talent we will need to pay for their travel and keep them fed which we have budgeted at £300 (however if we get more im sure the actors wouldnt mind being paid for their work). Luckily we have access to most of the equipment we need but we do need to hire a couple of items such as a shoulder mount for an SLR which will be around £100 to hire. The morgue will already contain the majority of the props we require but we will still need a few items such as a tatoo gun, costumes and makeup. If the project doesnt go ahead we will not be using the money to sooth our woes on a holliday but will be either putting it towards a new project but more likely will be saving the money to attempt the project again in the future as we are very determined for it to go into production.
Other Ways You Can Help
The way you can help even further than donating is to spread the word, let everyone know, whether its $2 or $1000 it will all be very much appreciated. Post a link on every possible social network you have and can think of, even crack out the old forms of social networking, write a letter, send a fax and release a carrier pigeon or two. We will also need a few body extras to play the dead and extras in a canteen if people really wish to get hands on. Contact me if your interested. Theres also the little gifts stated! Thanks so much for your interest.
