Michael Daughter
Michael's Daughter, a one woman show written and created by Ciera Payton. The title speaks for itself, Michael Frosch is Ciera Payton's father. He is currently serving a seven year prison sentence in Avoyelles Correctional Facility located in Louisiana.
This one-woman stage production was inspired by the exchange of prison letters between Ciera and her father. They are filled with life lessons, stories of his drug dealing past, and the unconditional love he bares for his daughter.
It's a story that highlights the unique father-daughter relationship that Ciera shares with Michael. From the life lessons through the rock-n-roll music, and unconditional love this story is one of triumph, fun, and survival!
The Impact
Louisiana harbors approximately 30% of the United States prisoners. Many of whom are serving time for drug related offenses. This story highlights the prison system and also children suffering from parents that are either incarcerated or have fallen victim to a life of drugs.
"Michael's Daughter" gives voice to persons whom have parents, relatives, and friends that have been affected by drugs in the most unconventional way...Theater!
Budget
I need 3000$ to make this play a possibilityThis budget guarantees space rental for rehearsal and venue, a director, a stage manager, sound mixer, projection screen, and promotional material, etc.
