Matt Poitras has been crafting props and costumes professionally for the
past 15 years. His production company, MP Filmcraft, supplies collectors,
film, theater, and television projects with props and costumes. What started
as making robots and jetpacks for home movies out of cardboard and hot
glue at the early age of 12 evolved into constructing highly-detailed and
historically based leather armor with intricate sculpted artwork. Home movies
turned into elaborate, fully costumed video projects in high school, and later
became more ambitious college films. He obtained directing positions in his
film classes, but still maintained an emphasis on creating props and costumes.
He directed and produced the feature independent WWII film Codename: Walkure
at the end of his college career and put together an assortment of uniforms and
props for the film. Most recently, Matt wrote, directed and costumed Blood of a King,
a short film based on the battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC.

because of the passion I can see swelling in its director, Matt Poitras.
In reviewing his previous works I have been made confident in his
talent at crafting an image and telling a story. He is sure footed, strong
willed, passionate and professional. These are all the assets of a great
director.
The creed of those who commit whole heartedly to the resurrection
of any forgotten times deserves to be immortalized and I couldnt feel
more passionate about doing just that.

the Vikings efforts and achievements lending an applauding hand to
the participants and a living book on the lost culture.
Physical strength, prowess, preparedness, culture, art, honor,
resurrection of a western martial art, craftsmen and women or arms,
armor, clothing, jewelry, tapestries, etc the people who are living this
history will make for extraordinary subject matter in the making of To
Go Viking.
