When I embarked on this Fan Funding campaign, I had no expectations. I simply wanted to provide the possibility of reaching an ambitious goal. To look now at the number $15,015, I am (almost) speechless. I'll have to cut back on a few things, sure, but seriously, $15K?! You guys are insane in the most awesome of ways. I'm not sure how to fully convey how thankful I am, but please know that your love and your support have made recording this album possible. My head is still spinning.

The Vision
My name is Margot. I'm a creator & a performer: an odd combination of recluse and social creature. For the last two years, in addition to playing songs for you on my basement floor, I've been writing and experimenting with all kinds of things - bottles, loop pedals, lighthearted songs about stalking - and I've created music that I absolutely love. Music that is... me. (Actually, sometimes 10 me's when I get really loop pedal crazy). Since most of my live show is filled with this new music, it never fails that someone asks me which album the new songs are on... and, with a Puss in Boots face, I have to
reply that they are not recorded yet. Ah, but the times they are a changin...
I want to take these creations into the studio and make them soar ten times higher and farther. The possibilities are endless. I've started a small bit of recording and I need your help to finish the album - kind of a kick back to the Renaissance. In the end, I just want to make something really beautiful, with you and for you. Something I can't do without you. And there will probably be a little mischief in the process.

There's stuff in it for you!
By helping bring my vision to life, I've come up with some unique perks (to the right, to the right) that you can get in on. The "Busking" to "World Tour" donors can get anything from limited edition Vinyl, jewelry and artwork, to an embarrassingly cute song from my early days of writing for school projects. The "Song Sponsor" and "Executive Producer" levels allow you or an organization to get especially involved (info below). You don't have to stick to the amounts listed though - they're just the minimum donations to get in on those particular perks. All donations get you the updates on behind the
scenes mischief: video, photos, song clips, bloopers... oh, how there will be bloopers.
What else can I do to help?
Tell the world! (Facebook,
Twitter, random people on the street) By using the share tools at the top, you become the voice for this
project. Large donations make
for a super happy Margot but it's plentiful small donations that can fuel a
fundraiser like this. If you can get your friends involved, it could make a world of difference. It's not just about raising money - it's also about helping me spread my music to new people, animals or anything else with ears.
On a bigger scale, if you know anyone that'd like to handpick a song for the record or take a chance on some creative marketing for their business, let 'em know about the awesomeness of being a Song Sponsor and Executive Producer.

How much money do you need to raise? Why?!
The goal is $25,000. I know. Making a record is expensive. I have a strong artistic vision for this project that is eons beyond what I can do in my live performance (for now, anyways) and I would love your help in making it happen. Like I said before, I just want to make something beautiful from me to you. Regardless of whether I reach my goal or not, I will be ridiculously
appreciative of any amount I can raise. The money will go towards:
✪ Recording at Recording Arts (a necessary start)

Mixing & Mastering (to make it sound pretty-like)
✪ Furnace Manufacturing (so a CD may rest in your hands)
✪
& if perchance I exceed my goal, the
remainder will go towards touring (i.e. getting myself to your city!) and maybe even a music video.
Unlike some campaigns, funds are available as they come in, so a contribution made today can get me in the studio tomorrow!
What is Song Sponsorship?
Instead of donating to the album as a whole, my Song Sponsorship idea lets you handpick a song to fund for the album. It's a way for you to really get involved and a chance for me to dedicate the song to you, a friend, or an organization* you support. The name will be printed as a Sponsor or a Dedicatee (your choice) next to your song on all prints of this album** and your song-download cards. Of course, you can always keep it undercover and go anonymous if you'd like
As a venture into creative marking, I decided to put my thinking cap on (pictures to come) and apply the idea to the business world. Any business or organization wanting to get involved has the opportunity to reach out to my MM fan base through the Exclusive Song Sponsorship level. By doing so, they are the exclusive name or logo printed next to their song on all prints of this album** and their song-download cards - tis a melodic promotional tool!
The more traditional Executive Producer level offers a wider role to the corporate sponsor and allows their logo* to be more prominent on the album and linked as an associate on my new website when it's launched. Its extra special perks are also super-sized for the *lightening crash* ultimate fan!

How do I contribute?
When you click "Contribute Now," fill out your donation info and choose to pay with PayPal at the bottom. If you have an account with them: awesome. If not, no need to make one - PayPal will process credit cards just fine! Once you're taken to the PayPal screen, you'll see "Choose a
Way To Pay" at the top. If you're not on Paypal, click "Pay
with credit or debit card" and make sure to uncheck the box that says "Save this
information with a PayPal account..." yada yada yada. Pay as a Guest
with your credit card and you're all set. If you prefer not to pay over the intertron, you may also donate by check.
Where my goodies at?
The faster the project is funded, the faster it will be finished. Once it's done, you'll receive all your perks before the
official release date! (a.k.a. everyone else)
