Be Afraid... Be Very Afraid
My name is David Andrew Concepcion. The name means “Beloved Strong Idea.” It’s the perfect name for any artist, but especially a writer. I have BA in film production from Hunter College and an MS from Boston University in screenwriting. Since 1995, I have completed ten full-length screenplays, including a page-one revision assignment for an independent film producer. I have taught screenwriting at Boston Univ., Emerson College, Newton Adult Education Center, and Grub Street Writers. In 2006, I participated in the NALIP Writer’s Lab. Since the year 2000, I have worked at WGBH-TV, where I am a coordinator of real-time closed captioning for national news and other television programs. To me, being a successful screenwriter is making a living writing full time. I want to write for other directors and help other screenwriters, especially minority writers, get their films made. I have been writing most of my life, but I look forward to when I can get paid to do what I love.
