Our Story

Brandon Freeman, an indie filmmaker in Boise, Idaho, is embarking on the journey of creating a four part saga that he's been developing for 13 years. "Mark of the Veil" is the start of that saga, a two hour feature film that introduces us to James Sheridan, a young man whose destiny stretches beyond the final hours of human civilization as we know it. Most of the characters have been cast, with incredibly talented local Boise actors.

We are filming our first table read on October 15th. The goal is to film over eight weekends in June-July 2012, and to release the film in 2013. We are currently campaigning to pay for the base production gear, concept artwork, and a professional script breakdown for budgeting purposes.

The Impact

Your impact by participating in this campaign is simple: you're helping us get this story, cast and crew out there, into the hands of people that can in turn help us pay for locations, sets and vehicles, pay for our actors and crew, and most importantly -- make sure we have plenty of food!

If this campaign doesn't reach its goal? We'll do what we can with what we get, and launch another campaign in January. We are making this film come June 2012, no matter what we have to do. But this is YOUR chance to be a part of this early stage of the production.

What We Need & What You Get

We need $13,000 to get started. This money goes to...

1. Baseline production gear:

a. Sony FS100 Camera w/ extra lens

b. Tripod system

c. Audio system

d. Data back-up system

2. Pre-production artwork by local Boise artist Michael Oglesbee.

3. A script budget breakdown/assessment by an industry professional.

As far as perks, you can read them on the list, but we are committed to making you feel like a part of this team; because if you give to this, you are! Check out that list to see how much you can give.

Other Ways You Can Help

Given all you can? Can't give anything? Hey, we understand; if we had cash, we wouldn't be asking! The best thing you can do is pass this project along to everyone you think would enjoy this film.

Show them the website, show them the growing catalogues of videos about the film (they are growing), tell them to fan us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, subscribed to the blog... get them psyched! We need to build our audience, we need a movement. The more excited folks we can show to potential investors, the better our shot!
