My name is Dustin Joseph Seichi Nakao Haider and Love is a Bitch is my final student film as an undergrad at NYUs Tisch School of the Arts.

The story is simple. Just your conventional love triangle between a man, a woman, and a dog. A tale of love and love lost over the course of twenty-four hours in the worlds largest Ghost Town New York, New York.

As a transplant in a City full of transplants I have felt a certain disconnect to the place Ive been trying to call home. Moments of honesty are often fleeting, yet something is keeping me here. Something I can feel, but not always see. Something I can sense, but not quite understand. My goal with this film is to articulate that feeling visually and aurally. 

All the actors and crewmembers are working for free, but I will feed them as much as they will let me. We are also covering costs to the employees at the locations who will be working overtime to let us work in there space. Although budget is limited we need some additional equipment rentals to supplement our allotment from NYU.

We are shooting at a bevy of beautiful locations across the East Village during the early days of summer. I have a small talented group of collaborators, Im happy to call my film family; weve helped one another on all of our projects, now its my turn. I am confident in their abilities to present New York as it has never been seen before, or better yet, as it used to be seen.

This film will be my final assignment within the guarded world of education, after this I embark on an unknown journey. With your help we can make this bon-voyage-project a memorable one.
