PROJECT HOME UPDATES COMMENTS

As an acid-dropping hippie in 1967, Lonnie Frisbee was accustomed to going in and out of “trips”. Leading his nudist friends into the canyons of Southern California, the group would take off their clothes, do drugs, and seek spiritual experiences. One day, Lonnie Frisbee definitely got his wish.
He said, “Suddenly the whole atmosphere began to change around me. It began to tingle and shimmer and glow. I thought . . . “Ahaaa Ahaaaw!!! I don’t even want to be here! I was scared and shocked, and positive it was not a LSD flashback. I didn’t hear an audible voice, but I knew I was in the presence of God Almighty. Then I saw a radiant vision clear as crystal. I saw thousands and thousands of young people at the ocean, lined up in huge crowds along the coast . . . and they were going out into the water being baptized… Then I saw a light from heaven come down and ordain me . . . and I could hear Him say, ‘Go in my name for I have touched your lips with a coal of fire that burns ever before the presence of God. Proclaim to the people that I am coming soon’.”
That sent Lonnie on an altogether different kind of “trip” . . . A trip that engulfed the rest of his life and would ignite three separate worldwide Christian movements, in addition to bringing revival to the U.S., South Africa and other countries. Through interviews with firsthand witnesses, close friends, and hours of personal testimony from Lonnie himself, follow the journey of Lonnie’s life from his troubled childhood, to his radical conversion, and incredible ministry. See his influence in the birth of the Jesus Movement. Walk with Lonnie during the formation of Calvary Chapel. Travel with him around the world, hearing firsthand stories of lives changed and restored. Discover Lonnie’s role in the growth of the Vineyard movement and hear how he personally influenced such key leaders as Chuck Smith, John Wimber, Greg Laurie, Mike MacIntosh, and many others. Weep with Lonnie during his devastating backslide . . . and rejoice at his restoration.
This personal, honest look at an imperfect hero is produced, written, and directed by a close personal friend of Lonnie Frisbee.
