Who is LiveWire Chicago?
LiveWire Chicago is a collective of artists who produce original contemporary voices of American theatre in Chicago. We have come a long way from our humble beginnings as Visiting Artists at the Side Project to producing downtown at the Chicago DCA Storefront Theater and establishing our unique annual short play festival, VisionFest, now in its fourth year.
LiveWire began our current 6th season in the fall with the Chicago premiere of A Bright New Boise by 2011 Obie Award-winning playwright, Samuel D. Hunter. We are excited to continue this season with the Chicago premiere of Oohrah! by Bekah Brunstetter at
Steppenwolf Theatre's Garage Rep as part of their 2012 season devoted to the
theme "Dispatches from the Homefront."
Oohrah! is the comedic tale of a soldier's

Your Impact
LiveWire is making our biggest leap to date with the production at Steppenwolf and we need your support. Your gift today will go towards helping us produce Bekah’s play, allowing us to pay for design materials, performance rights, artist stipends, and additional expenses needed to bring this original piece to Chicago.
LiveWire has also committed to donating 10% of the funds we raise through this campaign to the Vet Art Project. The Vet Art Project provides opportunities for veterans and their families to work in collaboration with artists to create art about war and service, and to foster discussion about how war and service affect us all.
Your money will go toward not just one, but two organizations dedicated to enriching our community through art.
